And how about the WEATHER ??
Wouldn't it be great to know what the wheater is going to be like when you plan your holiday?
Unfortunately weather is not an exact science and is hard to predict but the rain, surface and underwater conditions, waves and winds documented below have been based on many years
of experience of dive shop owners here in Thailand.
You will find that Koh Tao boasts an all year round diving season and is great for training.
We get our annual monsoon in November-December, due to the shape of Koh Tao, it is always possible to find calm and sheltered dive sites (we have more than 27 sites!) even in the middle of the monsoon !

The West Coasts' South West monsoon is a much longer monsoon than the North East monsoon experienced in the Gulf of Thailand. Weather can be rainy from June all the way to end of September. Which doesn't mean it can clear out for a week or so, but this is difficult too predict.
Koh Lanta is usually 'deserted' during this time as many businesses close during this period, diving of Koh Lanta will not be possible during the SW monsoon.
