Your First Aid Course

The Emergency First Response Course is a one-day non-diving specific, general First Aid Course. Designed by the American Heart foundation, using guidelines previously published in the Journal of the American Medical Association and by the American Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons, this program aims to provide participants with the basic knowledge and practical skills required to assist an injured person. It may be something simple such as a small cut, or something more serious such as a heart attack. Whatever the situation the Emergency First Response Program will assist you in developing the necessary skills and confidence to provide first response care to the patient.

The Emergency First Response course content is sub-divided into the seven skills of patient care:

The program runs over approximately 4-6 hours, split into two segments and is based around a stress free, practical “hands on” approach. You will watch a short video segment, followed by an Instructor demonstration of the skill. You then practice either with a C.P.R. mannequin or on the other participants in the program, under the supervision of your Instructor. We’ve had a lot of fun with this course with several people looking like an Egyptian mummy by the end of the day.

Price: 3,500 Baht (no extra charge for material)

Your Rescue Diver Course

The Rescue Diver Course develops your knowledge and skills so you can effectively perform diver assists and rescues, manage diving accident situations and render first aid. This certification is an important step in expanding your knowledge, experience, and confidence as a diver. To enroll in the course you will need to have an Advanced Open Water Diver certification (or equivalent).

There is also a requirement that, prior to Rescue Diver certification, you must have a C.P.R. certification from a recognized agency within the last two years. The Emergency First Response Course may be used to meet this requirement and is offered as a package with the Rescue Course. The Rescue Diver Certification (or equivalent) is also a prerequisite for all PADI leadership programs, starting with Divemaster.

The Rescue Diver Course runs over three days and covers various topics relating to the analysis and prevention of diving related accidents. If combined with the Emergency First Response course the time required is four days.
