Seasons
Koh Tao has two types of season: weather and tourist.
- Conditions are usually favourable from mid-December with temperature and visibility increasing and flat seas until end of May. June to August can bring changeable weather which can include slight showers and windy periods. Diving conditions are still good, with visibility ranging from 15 to 30 meters.
- Between the months of September and October conditions re-peak with good visibility and flat seas.
- Monsoon usually occurs for the month of November, during this time visibility drops down to 10 meters and if possible avoid this time of the year.
- More detailed information on the weather can be found here.
Weather:
- The island starts to fill just before Christmas and continues up until the end of April. There is a second period where the island fills again around about mid-July until the end of September.
- If you would like to dive during the busier periods we strongly advise that you make a reservation for a bungalow at our resort.

Recompression Chamber
- For those interested in diving, please see the diving medical form that will need to be completed prior to each course. If you have a Medical History, please take this form to your Doctor and inform him/her that you intend to take part in a Scuba diving Programme, and they will advise you if you are fit to dive.
- It is advisable to do this prior to arrival, as qualified Diving Doctors on Koh Tao are limited. Koh Tao has two companies that deal with recompression and diving accidents. A mono-place chamber is located at the Mae Haad on the island, and the nearest multi-place recompression facility is in neighbouring Koh Samui.
- Scuba Junction is proud to be one of the original sponsors and supporters of the SSS Chamber Network.
